Call Me Pharaoh – L. M. Beyer - $2.99
Pharaoh Farrow is a Science Fiction version of the noir detective. In his patched-up ship he flies from star system to star system answering the call of his clients, the latest being a wealthy industrialist with a missing daughter. It turns out he may not just be needed to rescue her, but the entire galaxy!
This was a great read that I gave a 5-star review to. L. M. Beyer writes with an entertaining style that reminded me of the late, much lamented, Keith Laumer. I urge you to give this one a try. Ms. Beyer has a second Pharaoh Farrow adventure out and a third in the works.
"Oh...Kay, THIS job is going to take a while! There is a lot to add."

Machines of Easy Virtue – Jack Price - $2.99
Another in what seems to be a developing sub-genre of SF; the noir detective of the future. It takes place at the other end of this new century, but as this fun read shows, people haven’t changed much… but maybe our machines are picking up our bad habits … or are they?
A thoughtful, but entertaining look into a possible future, and that is what good Science Fiction is supposed to do, isn’t it? I will certainly be looking for anything else by this author.
A nicely paced short story that sets a scene in the life of a prince (a ball designed to find him a wife), throws in a little intrigue, some great characterizations, and a bit of action, gets you interested in the wider world this all takes place in, and then it wraps up tidily without the cliffhanger that one might expect from an introduction to a series. All in one short story. Well Done!
.... The First Ball is a well crafted short story that has me seriously considering the rest of Andi Lawrencovna's books, even though they are out of my normal comfort zone (rocket ships and ray guns). That is an accomplishment. Give this one a read. :>
Retread Shop – T. Jackson King - $2.99
The progenitor to Tom King’s later ‘47th Florescence’ stories. A fun, old-fashioned SF read, reminiscent of Heinlein. Young Billy McGuire is the only human on a huge ancient alien space station; the ‘Retread Shop’. If you like stuff with a cast of alien characters, this is it. A great read.
Recommended Reads
My favorite kind of read! This is the good stuff! Pharaoh Farrow is back, and doing what he does best; getting in and then back out of trouble with hosts of angry, vengeful, aliens on his heels. Under threat of a dire fate for his beloved Myra, Pharaoh has been dragooned into locating someone. The problem is that that someone is on a prison planet with a reputation for being escape proof. Then there is the whole 'somewhere' on a PLANET thing. Pharaoh has his work cut out for him indeed; tromping through hostile jungles and slicing his way past pirates aboard storm-tossed decks - oh, and did I mention that you DON'T want to fall in the water on this planet?
Never a dull moment fulfilling 'The Jovayan Contract'! Read and enjoy. This one is another keeper from L. M. Beyer.
